You see, that's why most of my street shots are taken with the camera well away from my face. Usually at about hip level!

Close one. This is the reason I take so little material from the street. Being sneaky, as Heath says to play it, makes me start to question my own motives but there is an escalating anti-camera feel out there for sure. All that said, you came away with a high tension shot here . . and just a caution.

Even though you are perfectly within your rights, it's still a bit scary. I've been reading a lot about photographer's rights. In a nutshell, if it is in public view, there is no expectation of privacy, therefore, you can photograph it. The police can't do anything, but you were smart to cease. :-)
