Notes
- Another one from the Friday night fire. I've never been this close to a fire before and it's an experience I'll never forget. All your senses are assaulted; the hot dry heat blowing against your skin, the smell of the fire, the roaring of the flames with the crackling of wood and the image of dancing fiery entrails burning itself into your eyes.
One side note, during the course of night, I kept wondering why my right ring finger felt like it was cramping. I thought it was due to the combination of fatigue from gripping the camera for 1 1/2 hours and the chilly night. Later that evening, while washing up, I'd discovered my finger was swollen and the top part was bent at a 45 degree angle down! In my haste to get outside, I'd broken it while rushing down the stairs from the second floor of my house and jammed it against the top part of the banister. Ouch!!!
