Gotta hand it to them. At least they're being truthful.

Pokemon Camera

No more hassles when taking pictures around bridges, government buildings, etc.!
No more being shy when taking pictures of people!

No more stupid camera questions!

Apple Picking

It's that time of the year again, when the apples are ripe for picking! We took a 45 minute drive to Masker Orchards which is located in Warwick, NY. They have many varieties of apples, but we're most interested in the Red Delicious.
With all of the rain and the not-so-hot summer, the Red Delicious apples were humongous! We ended up with 4 filled-to-the-brim bags of apples. We made our usual stop of getting cider donuts and stopping in the old barn for some goodies. Since we'd finished picking our apples early, before 11am, we'd missed out on all the great activities like hayrides, horse rides, face painting, etc., which all usually starts around noon.
On our way out, we even picked up a free bottle of cider, courtesy of a free cider coupon we'd received in the mail!

Hidden Message?

Reminds me of the Ishihara Test for color blindness, which is a circle filled with color dots and if you're not color blind, you can see the number which is a different color than the surrounding color dots.

Grass Man

... and I don't mean the kind you can smoke!
It's amazing how resourceful people can be. He's created an amazing variety of insects, birds and dragons from "grass." My daughter, Samantha, was happy with her little cricket.
Here are some closeups (crops), look at the wonderful detail each one has:

Ivan's Wrath

Even though Ivan was no longer a hurricane or even a tropical storm, the remnants of Ivan still packed strong winds and dumped sheets of rain.
Early in the morning we had to travel into the city today, and it was flooded everywhere. We live outside of the city and before leaving for the city, we lost electricity intermittently (and later for about 2 hours when we were in the city) and there were plenty of downed trees. It was slow going on the West Side Highway and on the east side along South Street, it was bad for the parked cars.
At times the wipers couldn't keep up with clearing the windshield. Normally we use our all-wheel drive Subaru Legacy Wagon, fortunately we decided instead to drive our Mercedes ML320 SUV. People may bash SUVs as a gas guzzler but at times like these, it's foolish to drive anything else.

NYC Drinking Water - Sampling Station

I didn't even know these existed! The decision to take photos every day, when possible, really makes you view your surroundings through the lens of your camera. And that's before bringing the camera to your eye and taking the shot!

Giant Robot In Times Square

This was spotted at 7:30am on my way to work. It was located between the Toys 'R Us store and the Good Morning America studios. It's a promotion for Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow.

I couldn't make up my mind which one to post, a closeup shot of the door or the wide shot. This was inside a little front courtyard with a wrought iron fence and gate.

Looking at the outside reminds you of being in Disneyland or Universal Studios or even an Indiana Jones set. I couldn't take pictures of the facade because of the scaffolding covering most of it.
