September.26.2004 : Masker Orchards

It's that time of the year again, when the apples are ripe for picking! We took a 45 minute drive to Masker Orchards which is located in Warwick, NY. They have many varieties of apples, but we're most interested in the Red Delicious.

With all of the rain and the not-so-hot summer, the Red Delicious apples were humongous! We ended up with 4 filled-to-the-brim bags of apples. We made our usual stop of getting cider donuts and stopping in the old barn for some goodies. Since we'd finished picking our apples early, before 11am, we'd missed out on all the great activities like hayrides, horse rides, face painting, etc., which all usually starts around noon.

On our way out, we even picked up a free bottle of cider, courtesy of a free cider coupon we'd received in the mail!

Great! Have fun picking and photographing. I had a hard time between making up my mind to shoot photos or eating the apples. So I alternated between both!
